Cardbord stifners

Post by King_of_the_Hill »

I'm reading a lot about new stifner princeples, speficaly for torsion.
the basic idea is that cardbord is build out of tubes which give good stiffnes in one direction and are very flexible in the other direction
By placing tubes on the upper laminate its possible to increase trosion stifnes without changing bending stifness.

Has anyone tried this before in an homebuild ski?
Assumption is the base of all f*ck ups

Elan uses that EXACT principle in a lot of their high end speedwave skis. it works incredibly well. does exactly what it says it does. as for doing a homebuilt, i dont see why you couldnt replicate the idea; just router out the grooves.
