profiling a core with a planer

The pounding effect of the planer knives on the core can delam the sidewalls very eaisly. I have had great sucess with the skibuilder process but you can only remove a mm or 2 for each pass. Your planer knives must be sharp. Finaly, the angled base template nedds to be rock solid. if it bends the core breaks loose and you will get serious snipe.

So from what i figured out from looking at pics is that;

you just build a "mold" that is opposite what you want, set your core on it, and run the whole thing through the planner.

Let me know if this is correct, it sound pretty easy.

Ye, that's correct. We call it a "crib", just like in the bible.. and MTV.
