Bamboo with composite or without?

hey,

im makeing my skis for my GCSE DT, my cores are laminating as we speak but someone mentioned about not having to use fibregalss with bamboo. Any Help?

Bamboo should be treated just like any other core material. You will still need to use fiberglass to retain the skis shape (camber tip and tail ect.). I am going to use bamboo as it appears to be better option for a wooden side wall.

There is a good video showing Kingswood laying up some skis with a bamboo core.

ok, thanks just cut out my cores and profiled them so layups this weekend.
