bamboo sidewall grain direction

Post by mattman »

so the subject pretty much sums it up...all the places that sell bamboo (mostly for flooring) seem to have it in every grain direction. any recommendations of which grain direction is best for sidewalls? and which place do you prefer to buy it from?

thanks in advance!

I think vertical laminate is what you want. Whichever type the laminates look the most thin and close together.

vertical laminates is how the strips for the core are laminated together. this doesnt clarify grain direction though. i know vertical grain (end grain) is used for most core strips, but on the sidewall i am afraid this might lead to chipping. any input? anyone?
