Midweek at this time of year there's really noone here. A few more on weekends but not too bad. We were on about 5th chair this morning and pretty much everyone in front of us dropped the groomers. We were first out the backcountry gate and down some great wind blown slopes.
No computer for this week so no more vids, sorry.
8 straight pow days. Pretty wrecked. Forecast is for snow to come back in on Tuesday and last through to the weekend. Pretty amazing 2 week ski trip potentially!

Thanks guys
Got back last sunday - feels like a lifetime ago already after a week of work.
Hokkaido in the north where we were was pretty much unaffected by the shaking or the tsunami. I was out skiing when the quake hit and only heard about it later. People in the village felt the quake, but we didn't out on the hill. The main island seems to be in a fair bit of trouble from the news reports. I think it is perhaps mostly in a certain area, which isn't that big, but also not that small. The fact it was near tokyo makes it a fair bit worse, especially with blackouts etc.
The only trouble we had was at the airport on the way home the day after. A lot of flights out of the USA bound for tokyo got landed in Sapporo (on hokkaido, the northern island - the news keeps saying the quake was in north east japan - really it was in central japan, a little to the north east of tokyo) so there were many stranded travellers waiting for flights.
Luckily I had booked my flight via Hong Kong directly out of Sapporo. Check in was delayed a half hour or so and the check in hall resembled a clean version of people sleeping under bridges. That's about as bad as it got for me - thankfully.
Feel very bad for the people of japan. The country and people have given me a lot over the last 5 or 6 years. They are pretty hard working and resourceful though so should have it sorted out fairly soon. We're going to have a bit of a fundraiser in the near future to raise a small amount of money for one of the charities.

I'll link in a second video of the ski testing. Pretty happy all in all. Unfortunately the go pro or more likely dodgy memory card failed to record 90% of our videos :( Pretty annoying as we had some good chase footage, chesty mount stuff and some pole cam in pretty deep powder. Anyway, next time....

Going to have a bit of a rest from building (try to anyway) to work on our other project (cessna rebuilding). Might be a bit absent for a while. Will try and make a bit of a video from the japan trip and post it when I'm done. Happy building.

Little ski hill in Tasmania got dumped on this week. 75cm+
Major resorts on the mainland have had about 20-30cm to get things going for the weekend
