sno cad x issues ----- help!!!!

Post by doughboyshredder »

I am sure this isn't an issue with snocad, so I didn't want to bother dan with it.

I am trying to upload a graphic to see what it will look like on a board. When I am in editing graphic mode I click on the file icon and nothing happens.

Java issue? I know I have the newest run time environment.

permissions issue? Don't even know how to check this.

Internet security thing? All I run is defender and adblock.

I don't really understand how snocad-x even works. It won't run without an internet connection, right? So, do I have an issue because Chrome is my default browser.

Ideas?

If I click on open file, no dialog box opens.
If I click on import no dialog box opens.
It doesn't want to talk to my computer.

I'm running snoCAD-x 1.0.7.a with the latest Java 6 update 21. SnoCAD-X seems to be working ok. Opened files, export to full pdf w/o any problems.

No problems here either. Update (if you haven't)
It's a Java Web start application. Which means it's a client app, but with a dependency to a server (eg. grafsnowboards.com). So no connection, no app.
If you have problems after starting it, there might be issues on your local station.

FYI. The site was down early this week.

I running Ubuntu Linux so I have NO problems! :)

(almost FOG warning on me using Java... :) )

Good one OAC :D I don't know much about Java either.

btw - I changed my default browser to Google Chrome and SnoCAD-X worked fine.

No worries skidesmond! We will rule the business a couple of years more! ;)
Then the "facebook generation" can take over....and we will build skis all day long! :D

hmmm, guess I gotta send Dan a pm.

Have updated everything. Actually, uninstalled, and reinstalled java and snocad. Made sure defender and adblock weren't blocking it. Made sure firewall wasn't blocking it. But, it just won't work. Won't bring up any dialog boxes.

Wonder if it's cause I'm on windows 7 64bit.

That might be the issue(win 64-bit). Did you install 32 or 64-bit Java?
I always install 32-bit Java. Both on clients and servers. (If you like to know why, we can have a long discussion in some other forum :) )

My bet is that Dan only verify it on 32-bit Java.
You better send Dan a PM.

Please post if there are issues.

Good luck

I installed 32 bit java. Since chrome doesn't have a 64 bit browser the 64 bit version of java doesn't show up as a download option on the java page.

Still no response from an e-mail I sent dan. Can't get on to graf. Seems my password was purged during the update. Tried to re register and never got the confirmation e-mail.

Seems my computer doesn't like graf. I wonder if Chrome being my default engine is the problem.
