Insomnia Skis.

Dont dis the bindings. look xp's are the first pivoting toe bindings. the fks are based on theese.

base graphic. i am super happy with the edges near perfect fit.

NEVER. EVER. putting my router to my skis again.

the set screw moved on the bit and caused the router to go in deeper
and then it spun out and hit a edge. not only i ruined the sidewall, i ruined a router bit too.

i filled it in with wood filler, but i have doubts that thats going to hold. an ideas?
But i just wanted to start off the "post press building" thread on a good note and say that it is my sixteenth birthday. :).

I feel the same way about the router.

OH, depends on the wood filler, I think.

I did the same thing pretty much on the last board that I built before I vowed to never use a router on a finished board. I filled with two part black epoxy. Nobody was the wiser, and so far it's held.

Make some thickened epoxy to fill your divets. Just use saw dust. Mix it into the epoxy until its about as thick as peanut butter. use clear packing tape to keep it in the places you want it and off the surfaces that you don't. It'll be a bit darker than the wood on the side walls.

No bearings just a guide and a straight 1/2" 4 fluted spiral end mill. You can still screw things up but its more comfortable to use than a hand guided router imho. I have been wearing out the guide so I'm thinking i'll add a piece of edge to the guide to stop that.

What's with the rivets? Get a little delam, or?

Need a little help cutting out your tips, but for your first ski, certainly not bad!

btw the rivets are like a toe cap.
when carving hard pack, the tips rub against each other, slowly eating away at the materials.
plus i have have them on my k2 extremes. they look good imo

My old Public Enemies have the rivets too, but they were purely for looks by K2.

You shouldn't really have issues with delam on the tips, so you really don't need rivets.
