brown, in fact you cant really tell the difference between it and mahogany

still sounds nice though. Do you think it was a chemical reaction with the epoxy or the heat, or both?

Heres the purple heart before pressing
no idea why it changed, when wetted out the purple became more vibrant, and didnt dull at all.
heres some random pics of the second board of today, because seeing them takes away the crap feeling the other board leaves me with
names on the second board were customer's idea, couldnt be talked out of it

Hey Jacob.
What's that topsheet material ? it looks like it has a matte finish right ? Did you print that yourself ?

We had Coda print it
The board in the photo still has the protective clear sheet they apply to the topsheet on it.

To continue with the rant, that graphic board has two .5" long delams at both tips. Looks like it was an expensive day

I've used purple heart in about 10 pairs of skis now, and it seems to be a hit or miss. Sometimes the color turn out; other times it's what you described. I didn't really think much about the cause, though....

Osage orange does the same thing...those are the only 2 I've experienced that with so far, and as Kam says it's a crapshoot, sometimes they come out beautiful.
