we build and sell snowboards. we do not make a profit. burton sells snowboards, burton does not make a profit on their snowboards.
let me rephrase, if you manage to sell enough snowboards to make a profit you end up spending all your profits on other arenas so that you can continue selling your product. (marketing, advertising, team, more rent, more materials, broken machines, more insurance, more lawyers, more accountants)
this is a vicious industry, the only profit is riding your own gear and not having to compromise.
"true" profits exist in softgoods.
