Inserts (repeat topic)

Tie a piece of string to a magnet, drag it through some sand for 15-20 minutes, beach/playground/etc. This will pick up a fair amount of magnetite, which should work. You might have to "magnetically" filter it a couple of times to get all the sand out. Also very useful for making thermite.
Or just shove a piece of rebar into a bench grinder.

they also have the metal filings you're looking for, i think a small container of it is like 5bucks,
it took us about 200 boards to go through one container i think.
and you dont have to bulk order the powder or the magnetic stickers.
you only need two magnets per board and a locating template
i dont know how ski insert system works. but for snowboards you only have to put magnetic caps on two inserts. and if you have a template you can easily find the rest with a sharpie and the template. but if you can afford to cap all of them then you will always be exact
only time i ever missed an insert with the 2 magnets and the template is when some idiot smoked too much weed and laid up the board with the core backwards. our front insert pack had an extra two holes so when backwards the template marked the wrong spots. oh and of course that was MY fault because I should have noticed it when i saw that the located holes were off. haha.
