[feeler] VDS group buy

Post by ben_mtl »

Hi guys,

I'm gonna be looking at purchasing some VDS soon and I was wondering if a group buy would be a way to get better prices on it.
I've never bought VDS directly from CDW so I don't really know if price is better with quantity and I don't know what the "packaging" would be.

Until now I've use 12in wide VDS (natural color) and just used to rip it in 3/4" strips (1/2" is too narrow to make me feel confortable, 1in is too wide -» wasted material)
I don't know if I can get rolls of 3/4" VDS, probably not but I'll try. If I can't then I'll take the 12in wide stuff...

So 2 things :

- if poeple already ordered large quatities of VDS feel free to add you input regarding the quantities, the with of VDS available... anything that could help.

- if some of you are looking for VDS : what's your timeframe ? how much do you need ? What width ?

Have a good day !
Ben

Yeah, I was one of the first to say I would be in for a group buy there... I just thought here was a better place for a group buy...

My bad.

I'd be in for 150-200m of 25mm. I don't care about color.

I am interested in a full 12" roll. Preferably black but I'll take whatever I can get right now as far as color.

I'd be keen for a roll (150m right?) of 1" stuff, or if people were ordering wider stuff, an equiv amount of that.

How many rolls of 1" does it take to get to $600?

In for a group buy at whatever thickness, color, or width. Would prefer a nice wide 12" roll, but I'll take whatever.

I've ordered directly from Haberkorn before. I ordered 2 rolls at a time and 4 rolls. no issues, just a pain in the but to do the foreign money-order transaction. I recall paying as much for shipping and money-order fees as the 2 roll order.

Whoever is going to lead this transaction can feel free to send me a PM, and I'll pass along the contact I have. Just don't want this poor woman having 30+ people harrasing her for small quantities, and then requiring minimum orders.

PM sent, I'm gonna take care of it between 2 diapers changes and some headscratching on the CNC... if there's enough interest.

OK I don't know nothing about sourcing VDS, Haberkorn is the manufacturer right ? and they're in Europe.

Is it possible I saw somewhere that CDW is also a VDS "provider" (thus making it somehow available in the US...) ?

Those who buy the 50$ roll thingy, does it come from Europe too ?

Thanks for the help !

Am I invisable? See the link I posted. If you want 6 or 12 inch wide min order is around 600 bucks. Yes cdw has 75meter rols for 50bucks. If thats all you want you should go to cdw.
Most of us want the wider material.

im not in but thought i'd say this. if you have a band saw, you could probably just cut the 12" rolls into any width you wanted
