Perhaps this would be a good thread to start - no matter what stage you are at or how far you want to take it.

Coming up with a 404. Dropping the .pdf appears to be the solution: http://wiki.r-g.de/images/6/69/R%26G_Handbuch

If I might be so arrogant, my undergrad thesis has methods for vibration testing and stiffness measurements for snowboards.

Vibration: https://www.pebblepad.com.au/rmit/viewa ... oid=277408

Stiffness: https://www.pebblepad.com.au/rmit/viewa ... oid=277420

Good info! Testing stiffness and torsion can be done by DIY'er relatively easily with some ingenuity. I haven't found a decent way to test vibration that is meaningful for DIY.

Sirometer: http://www.treysit.com/16.html

Accelerometers: http://www.adafruit.com/products/163 connect it to a micro-controller, http://www.adafruit.com/products/50 and record the data: https://classic.parallax.com/tabid/393/Default.aspx. Video: Issue, ensuring the macros are enabled/disabled - can't remember which - within Excel.

Upgrade, IMU's using InvenSense mpu6050 - as used by the ski industry. Problem, lack of a suitable GUI (Graphical User Interface). Best option, MultiWii : Residual issue: http://www.multiwii.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&start=30, http://www.multiwii.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2910.

Cost appears to be circa $50
