aluminum cassette thickness

It depends how aggressive your tip molds are I guess. When I first put my 3.0mm aluminium sheet in I thought I could simply press it into shape. I was wrong, they sprung back flat and I had to physically bend them to shape.
My molds have very mellow tip molds though

22gauge galvanized mild steel for cassette. Don't see need to us aluminum.

What's a benefit to use aluminum for cassette?
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Lighter
Good heat conductor
Works well with mold release

But I'm sure galvanised steel is fine too

sweet deal, thanks guys! yeah I did a couple basic searches and wasn't getting the answers I wanted. I figured I might get told to search here somewhere (haha, no hard feelings) but now I have my answer. much appreciated everyone! now i'm off to think up another dumb question. be back later! :idea:

I use some alu than is used for custom bent window trim covering. Not sure of the ga., maybe 18-20??? My brother replaces windows and installs vinyl siding. I hit him up once a year for a couple 8 foot lenghts. they hold up pretty good.

I've even used thinner alu. Used for flashing material without any issues. I prefer the slightly thicker stuff though.
