Wooden side loader press

I beams are way too expensive in ak and we'd rather work with wood than steel so here it is.

Image

Beams are 20" wide laminated alternating 2x12s and plywood. Notched 8x8 timber supports reinforced with 3/4 inch allthread from every direction. Homeade heat blankets a la skibuilders. Length adjustable top and bottom molds. Topless babes of hawaii calendar slightly obscured by glare in the photo (sorry).

About 15 successful pairs pressed so far. Top beam deflects 1/8 of an inch at 50 psi but for some reason the bottom beam stays true. I'll get around to posting construction photos sometime in the future. Happy to answer any questions.

That's a big honkin' press. A center support will fix the deflection. I used 5/8 thread rod on each side. The back side never comes off. The front one is removable.
