inkjet or color laser printer transfer?

I did a lot of reading and youtubing about DIY printer graphics transfers.

I'm wondering if anyone's tried it. So far I got a pinch of black ink to transfer to rough wood, but i ran out of ink trying it. I was printing to clear label paper, basically anything non porus, then rub it on to whatever you transfer to.

Dr Delam was doing printed transfers some time ago. Well I'm pretty sure I read in his Journal he was.
You can get proper transfer paper. His results looked pretty good.
