Establishing Base Edge

Post by skimann20 »

The more and more I build skis the more I get into tuning skis. What are you guys using to establish the base edge? i.e what type of file? and holder are you using?

I use the SVST final cut guide with a first and second cut file from www.tognar.com

Both are working for me.

Did buy the adjustable toko holder last year. Works good together with worldcup file or diamond polishing file

Same. I use the adjustable Toko for base filing and Toko Edge tuner for edges.

Tuning does make a big difference. I always keep the skis sharp and waxed. No need to go over board unless you’re on a World Cup.
