Vacuum vs. Pneumatic

Post by Thomas »

Has anyone done an analysis on vacuum bagging vs. a pneumatic press? I'm assuming the maximum pressure one can achieve with a vacuum bag at sea level is 14 psi. With a fire hose inflated to 40-60 psi is the ski seeing 40-60 psi across its surface? Is 40-60 psi really necessary to get a good bond between the layers? or is a pneumatic press just more convenient for production work? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,

T.
