Assistance needed on Ski Length and Width

Post by keile »

The ski length comprises of the ski’s tip, running length, and tail.

However, what factors do people consider when designing the height, length and curvature of the tip and tail?

Same goes for the shovel and tail length.

Can anyone provide me with such info or any revelant website? Needs it urgently. Assistance will be greatly appreciated :D

Thx alot.

maybe you haven`t seen this: http://skibuilders.com/articles/skidimensions.shtml

and that`s how i made these desicions: look up the tables on the link above, chose for what you want to use your ski: park/freeride, then pick out skis which you think would suit your riding style, compare their dimensions...and mix it up for your project :D

about tip and tails: lenght is about 12-15cm, the height comes from the radius of the tip/tail which is around 18cm for skis. so it results a lenght somewhere between 40-60cm.
for park you chose a not-so-high tip and tail, for powder you need a long, wide and high tip... and on the tail you`re pretty free....
