the Bibble's Ski Building EXTRAVAGANZA!

Post by Bibble »

So i've started teh process of building my press.
I've found a local metal shop with some cool cool guys who just have bunches of long i-beam scraps and misc. steel scrap lying around for FREE.

So i went there and picked out this 3" wide 12" or so tall I-Beam that i intend to use, but there was a catch, it's stuck behind this giant project that's supposed to be shipped off soon. So i have to wait for them to ship it off for them to be able to get to it to cut it.

So yeah. I have the source, i just have to wait now.

ok.
So here's a sketch of what i'm going to do with the aforementioned i-beam.

note that the bars are going to be welded or bolted to the I beam.
This is thick steel on this i-beam i'm using, and i told the guy what i was using it for, and he said, that should be fine. It won't even flex or anything.

So Skibuilding, here i come!
