heat blanket HELP!!!

I just got done reading the article by Kelvin Wu, it was very helpful yet i still need some help. I have found a controller and have a heat blanket manufacturer around me. now what i need is to understand the rest of the parts.

I am stumped on the ssr, is that something that is spasific to 120v or 210v, or are they universal? my plan is to run a 120v system @ 1500 amps. the blanket will need to be 6" x 80"... giving me just over 3 amps per inch. is that a good plan???


what i need here is some good insight maybe some one to send a link or 2 for ssr's on ebay. i ma going in to this blind, ac power is not my thing. npw dc is a different story, let me run it off a car battery and ill get it lol! thanks for the help in advance. Jon

SSR are not universal, but are rated in ranges. 120 and 240 vac are usually within the same range. One thing to pay attention to is the control input and whether it is DC or AC.
