Alternatives for top sheet.

Post by beansnow »

Is anyone using any other top sheets other than like Isosport or thin durasurf. basically other than things meant for top sheet.

I tried using HDPE that I abraided and flame treated, it worked ok but will peel eventually, that was in a vacuum mold, maybe once my press is done it will be better but not good enough.

I thought maybe a clear polyester from like mcmaster might bond better. Anybody try any other readily available material.

thanks

Varnish straight on the glass. Very clear and light compared to any plastic type stuff. Also done thin durasurf, durable but not too clear.

yea our next attempt will be to mold with a removable top sheet and then spray Polyurethane. We'll see how it goes.
