Ski Press Concepts

Post by dbtahoe »

There seems to be a great amount of ideas for ski presses out there. How about a monster thread to display ideas and discuss.

TGI Concept Press

I figure I might need to add some center bracing.

Advantages:
Easily available materials
Side loading
Lightweight
Can be disassembled

Thoughts?

Compared to an all steel one? Sure.

I figure I can leave the TGI's unconnected so they could be pulled out individually. The end bracing I can't see weighing more than 100 lbs. each.

But what's the material of the press? Or did I miss something?

the wood is cheaper than iron - that s right ....
you think wood is stiffy for 45 psi?

mý press alu INTEC profil had the same problem- over 45 psi blow up over 15mm in the middel - look s like a chamber

because i take 4 beam clamps on each side.

wood beams

I used treated 6x6's as the beams( had to trim the middle beam) and 3
12 ton shop press's

tested great @55psi and presses great @35-45psi

Have a look here your TGI concept has been done, and looks to be very functional.
