Perfect masking tape for heated ski press...

Post by SHIF »

Finally found the perfect tape for protecting both the base and top sheet during heated ski pressing. 3M automotive painting tape, type 233+

It can handle 250 degrees F and peels off clean and easy!

I press at 40 psi and post-cure bake at 185F for a few hours under pressure. This tape peels off perfectly and leaves a clean surface.

Google "3m 233+" and check it out.

UPDATE:
I don't use this green automotive painters tape any more.
I now use standard 3M blue painters tape, six inch width.

McMaster part number 7776A36.

6 inch wide tape is really nice to work with.
