fiberglass cores
if i were to use fiberglass as a topsheet, how would i prevent the epoxy from sticking to the press? would painters plastic peel away from the epoxy?
yeah painters plastic peels away real nice. i try to get the thinnest plastic as possible so that it doesn't leave an impression in the ski. clear packaging tape works as well.
a better way to do it is what kelvin and big kam do. they get HDPE (but any thick plastic that doesn't bond to epoxy will work too) and put this on top of the final layer of the ski, in your case the fiberglass topsheet. then they put the fire hose on top of the HDPE. the HDPE peels away easily and leaves a nice, smooth finish.
