source for titanol ?

Post by oliver »

I am trying to find a source for titanol. The skis I made last year were great soft snow skis but could have used a bit of dampening to handle harder snow. One of the changes I'm curious about is adding 1or 2 layers of metal as a topsheet. Any advice about finding and working with titanol would be appreciated.

Titanal is made by AMAG Rolling in Austria. Its very expensive (the minimum quantity order is 50kg, about $1200USD) and getting it shipped here is equally expensive. www.amag.at is their site.

If you want damper skis just focus on neutralizing harmonies by causing vibrations to pass from one density material to another. Using VDS rubber strips with this in mind and alternating core strips of two different densities will help.
