Reverse camber question

Post by lucacasty »

Hi everybody.

I write from Italy and this is my first post.
I'm starting the production of my first home made ski and I have a question regarding reverse camber.
I read in the SB site that when you make the base mold you need to consider that the ski after pressing will relax and loose part of the camber.
For this reason you need to accentuate the camber of the mold. So for example if you want 8mm camber you need a mold with 18mm.
Considering that I would like to make a ski with reverse (negative) camber I would like to ask you if the relaxation problem if true even in this case or if there is any difference in comparison with a standard camber situation.
I'm gomma make a ski with a -6/-7mm negative camber. Which is your suggestion regarding the mold? A mold with -16/-17mm camber should work?
Thank you for your help.
Ciao

Luca
